The Virgin Islands USA are a community of islands in the Caribbean Sea that are isolated from the main area of the USA. Geographically, the islands are part of the Virgin Islands archipelago and are located in the area of the Leeward Islands in the Lesser Antilles. Places to see in Virgin Islands are located in the islands that form them. The St. Croix, St. John and St. Thomas islands are some interesting places to see in the Virgin Islands.

The United States Virgin Islands is surrounded by different region of the island of water and other smaller islands. The islands are home to a multitude of attractions within the total area of 346.36 sq. km. In Denmark, Danish islands of the Antilles is the name given to the United States Virgin Islands. The three main islands which were given names by the local people of United States Virgin Islands are as follows:

* St. Thomas or the Rock City
* Swietokrzyskie or Saint-Twin
* Saint-Jean City or Love City


The United States Virgin Islands are located at a distance of about 50 miles east of Puerto Rico. The territory is composed of many small islands and four main islands of St. Thomas, St. John, St. Croix and Water Island.


The Virgin Islands are world famous for their pristine beaches White Sea, ports and imposing volcanic domes. Among all its beaches, The Magens Bay and Trunk Bay are the most important, while Charlotte Amalie and Christiansted are strategically placed ports which handle the bulk of traffic in the region. The St. Thomas islands are volcanic terrain and are full of hills and mountains. Crown Mountain is the highest summit in St. Thomas.
